PURPOSE:To color uniformly a part of a form, which corresponds to the background part of an original, in a color different from that of an image part by forming an electrostatic latent image having a prescribed polarity on an image carrier and subjecting the image part to positive development with a developer having a prescribed color and subjecting the background part to reversal development with a developer having a prescribed color. CONSTITUTION:The image of the original is exposed onto a photosensitive drum 13, to which surface electric charge having a prescribed polarity, for example, a positive polarity, by light 2 to form the electrostatic latent image, and the image part of the electrostatic latent image is developed by an image part reproducing developing device 3. The developer used for this development contains an image part reproducing tone of color A having a polarity opposite to that of the electrostatic latent image. Next, the background part other than the image part is colored by a background part coloring developing device 5. The developer used for this coloring contains a background part coloring toner of a color B which is charged electrostatically with the same polarity as the electrostatic latent image and has a color different from that of the image part reproducing toner of the color A, and thus, the background part and the image part are colored in different colors. |
