To improve the cleaning and maintenance of heat exchange units for dust-containing flue gases in flue gas channels, longitudinally-finned tubes with their large exchange surfaces are arranged vertically or horizontally as exchanger tubes parallel to the gas stream. The distributors and receivers with the exchange tubes are only detachably joined to the flue gas channels and are rapidly separated on repair. The cleaning of the exchange tubes is carried out via a ring jet system using compressed air after each working day or during operation. The heat exchanger in this case is not dismantled.
