To internally grind pipes, a hydraulic or pneumatic motor is used which is passed through the pipe. The motor has preferably two rotors which rotate in opposite directions and to which abrasive bodies are fastened. Torque and tilting moments on the guide element are thus largely compensated for, and peripheral speeds of the abrasive bodies of over 15 m/sec can be achieved, which ensure an adequate stock-removing capacity.
