PURPOSE:To prevent toner from scattering by allowing a developing device to perform only suctional operation during developing operation. CONSTITUTION:The toner 37 in a toner container 22 is consumed for development and air as much as the consumed toner is sucked into the container 22. When the toner 37 is supplied, the air in the space part 29 in a cover 3 replaces the supplemented toner 37 through a ventilation pipe 27. The supplemented toner flows in the gap between a photosensitive drum 13 and a conductive roller 33, and air enters a branch part 30 from an air vent 36 through a space part 35, so the pressure in the developing device 1 and the space part in the toner container 22 balances with atmospheric pressure. Therefore, no air is discharged from the developing device 1 and only air suction is carried out. |
