In a hydraulic vane machine, the stator (2) at its inner perimeter has a running face (32) for the vanes (38). The running face alternately has shorter minimum sections adjacent to the rotor perimeter (33) and longer maximum sections running at a greater distance from the rotor perimeter, and in between, in each case, transition sections. In the minimum sections, sealing elements (55) are provided, which are arranged in recesses (56) of the stator, run through a passage hole (57) towards the running face (32) and bear resiliently on the rotor perimeter (33). The sealing elements are formed by inherently radially resilient tube elements (55). The stator recesses (56) have a cross-section whose width, in order to form retaining faces (60) increases, starting from the passage hole (57), and then decreases again in order to form bracing faces (61) for the tube element (55). This allows the rotor vanes (38) to move past the sealing elements (55) without difficulty. <IMAGE>
