PURPOSE:To form a sharp image in a short time with low power consumption by exposing a photosensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer formed on a support, and supplying electric current through a conductive layer in the presence of a reducing agent and a base, etc., to heat it. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion layer is formed on a support made of glass, paper, metallic foil, resin, or the like to form a photosensitive material. After exposing it, an electric current is supplied through a conductive layer attached to this photosensitive material, or a conductive layer formed on another support and attached to this material to heat the conductive layer in the presence of a reducing agent and a base or its precursor, and an image is thus formed. Preferable silver halide is silver chloroiodide, iodobromide, and chloroiodobromide contg. silver iodide crystals in the grains and having the X-ray pattern of silver iodide crystal, and suitable silver halide grain diameter is 1- 10,000nm. |
