PURPOSE:To improve the ability information registering method of a destination facsimile terminal equipment and to execute the collection and registration of the ability information precisely and easily by using only the pre-processing part of a facsimile transmission control procedure to collect and register the ability information of each destination device automatically. CONSTITUTION:When a facsimile terminal equipment FAX-A having a multiple address function is to be set up, a worker for the setting inputs respective telephone Nos. of a facsimile terminal equipments FAX-B, FAX-C and FAX-D3-5, respectively in the multiple address destination from a telephone No. input part 6. An ability information collecting/registering part 7 sets up a sequential circuit between the inputted multiple address destination FAXs and the opposite FAX through a circuit control part 8 and an exchange 2 by using respective telephone Nos. of the inputted multiple address destination FAXs to execute the facsimile transmission control procedure. Since the transmission control procedure is prepared only for collecting the ability information of the destination FAXs, the procedure is executed up to only the necessary part of the pre-processing called phase B e.g. The ability information of the opposite FAX received by the pre-processing of said procedure is filed in an ability information table memory 9 in each multiple address destination.
