[Also in Division F3] A fastening device, Fig. 2, which is placed between a bolt and a supporting structure into which the bolt is fired, Fig. 5, comprises a bore 10 of less diameter than the threaded portion of the bolt so that, as the bolt is fired, the threaded end is held fast and forms a thread within the bore. The device is of polygonal form externally, and may have a cover (20), Fig. 4, not shown, placed over it. A separate ring 14 may guide the bolt in the barrel of the firing tool, Fig. 5, or the device may guide the bolt, Fig. 6, not shown. |
