FLUX FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

摘要

PURPOSE:To enable smooth continuous casting and to improve remarkably the cleanliness of a produced product by forming a flux in such a way that the change rate of the content of Al2O3 increased as a result of absorption by the molten flux and the change rate of the melting temp. changing in said stage are within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A flux is so formed that the change rate (DELTAx%) of the content of Al2O3 increased as a result of absorption by the molten flux and the change rate (DELTAT deg.C) of the melting temp. (m.p.) changing in this stage are within the range of the inequality, where the content of Al2O3 intrinsic to the flux in the initial time is assumed to be <=4%. Then the viscosity does not increase to the extent of giving an adverse influence on casting even if the amt. of the absorbed Al2O3 increases during use.
