PURPOSE:To efficiently grind throwaway tips while suitable indexing or rotating thwowaway tips held by support member in a predetermined position and at a predetermined angle. CONSTITUTION:A throwaway tip 3 is fed one by one from a first feed means 24 and gripped by a first handling means 1 so as to be introduced into a joggling means 13. The tip 3 is fixed by the joggling means 13 in a predetermined position and at a predetermined angle with respect to a joggling grinder 10 and subjected to a grinding operation as the tip 3 is suitably indexed or rotated. The resulting tip 3 is then fed one by one by a second feed means 38 and gripped by a second handling means so as to be introduced into a chamfering support means 28. The tip 3 is then fixed by the chamfering support means 28 in a predetermined position and at a predetermined angle with respect to grinder 11 and subjected to a grinding operation at the tip 3 is suitably indexed or rotated. |
