PURPOSE:To make simply and reliably a non-smooth sheared end face of a steel belt, which is formed by shearing, smooth in advance of a laser welding operation. CONSTITUTION:The rear end cut-off position of a leading steel strip Sa and the front end cut-off position of a trailing steel strip Sb are adjusted. Next, the steel strips Sa and Sb are clamped by an upper clamp 1a and a lower clamp 1b. In this state, when an upper blade 2a is lowered, the rear end of the leading steel strip Sa and the front end of the trailing steel strip Sb are sheared at the same time with two edge tools 2b fixed on the upper blade 2a and two edge tools 2d fixed on the lower blade 2c. After shearing, both sheared end faces Sc are placed directly opposite to each other and laser-welded. |
