PURPOSE:To measure the image data quantity without using any computer by counting the output data of a compression circuit by a counter circuit to measure the image data quantity. CONSTITUTION:An image transmitter generally transmits the compression data converted into a run length code to an image receiver 10 of the remote side through a transmission circuit 9. A counter circuit 12, a display circuit 11 and a transfer control circuit 13 are added to the image transmitter in order to count the compression data quantity. In other words, the circuit 12 is connected to a compression circuit 18 and counts the compressed data for each bit. The circuit 11 is connected to the circuit 12 and displays the count value of the circuit 12.
