PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode plate whose charging performance does not decrease even a battery is allowed to stand after overdischarge by immersing a cathode plate before formation in H2SO4 containing NaClO4, then applying formation. CONSTITUTION:A cathode plate prepared by filling paste-like active material in a grid of lead or lead alloy, which is not yet formed, immersed in H2SO4 in which corrosive NaClO4 is dissolved. Then the plate is formed by a conventional method of obtain a cathode plate of a lead-acid battery. Since a corrosion layer is formed to desired thickness, formation of lead sulfate, during allowing to stand after overdischarge, in the cathode plate is suppressed. Therefore, charging performance is not decreased even after a battery is allowed to stand after overdischarge. |
