METHOD FOR BUILDING UP ALUMINUM BRONZE BY WELDING ONTO IRON OR STEEL BASE

摘要

PURPOSE:To avert generation of a crack in a build-up layer by underlying pure nickel by welding prior to welding then build-up welding an Al bronze layer contg. nickel at a specific amt. thereto. CONSTITUTION:Pure nickel is underlaid on an iron or steel base prior to welding in the case of building up Al bronze by welding onto said base. An Al bronze layer contg. <=6wt% nickel is then build-up welded thereon as the 1st overlying layer. The generation of the crack occurring in the formation of an Al-nickel alloy is thus effectively prevented and the penetration of Cu into the iron grain boundary is thoroughly prevented. The defectless Al bronze built-up steel plate is thus obtd.
