PURPOSE:To operate a magnetic bubble memory element stably by allowing the fundamental period of transfer paths, the height of magnetic bubbles, and the diameter of magnetic bubbles to have specific relation when the diameter of used bubbles is minute and the period of fundamental elements of transfer patterns constituting a minor loop to be high density. CONSTITUTION:Minor loops 1 as magnetic bubble transfer paths, a read major line 2, and a write major line 3 are formed with ''Permalloy'' thin film patterns. These patterns are magnetized by an external magnetic field rotating on both faces of patterns to generate a moving magnetic bubble attractng magnetic pole, and magnetic bubbles are transferred. If magnetic bubbles having <=2mum diameter are used, a fundamental period lambda of minor loop transfer paths 1, a diameter (d) of magnetic bubbles, and a height (h) of them are so set to satisfy lambda/d<=3.5 and h/d<=0.75, and magnetic bubbles are made flat to reduce considerably interaction between magnetic bubbles, and the operation stability is improved. |
