PURPOSE:To provide the titled material free of decoloration of developed color images or choking and having favorable preservability, wherein a thermal recording layer comprising a leuco dye and an acidic substance capable of developing the color of the dye when being heated is provided on a base, and a surface layer comprising CMC is provided thereon. CONSTITUTION:A color forming coating liquid obtained by mixing 1mol of a leuco dye (1) (e.g., crystal violet lactone) with an acidic substance (2) (e.g., bisphenol A) in an amount of, e.g., 2-20mol, and a binder (3) (e.g., PVA) is applied to the base to provide the thermal color forming layer (A). Then, a surface coating liquid consisting of CMC (4), preferably, in an amount of not less than 50wt% of the dry weight of the surface layer, and a binder (5) or the like is applied to the color forming layer in a dry weight of, e.g., about 1-5g/m<2>, to provide the surface layer (B), thereby obtaining the objective recording paper. The leuco dye is ordinarily used in an amount of 0.1-1g/m<2> to the base. |
