The cover for transporting skis on a vehicle roof consists of a streamlined cover element (11) which covers at least one part of the ski fasten (12) and can be held to the ski by means of a number of grips, claws, or stirrups which guide the cover along the ski into position and hold the cover in place. The cover can be fitted by fitting the ski into the grips and sliding it into position from the rear. The stream lined shape reduces wind noise and petrol consumption caused by drag during transport.
