PURPOSE:To remove transfer displacement of a work by employing rotation information of the work displaced corresponding to a shift amount of a whetstone as information for synchronized operation with a new whetstone. CONSTITUTION:A pulse from a rotary whetstone 42 and pulse information from a work 20 detected by a sensor 21 disposed in the vicinity to the work 20 are previously stored in a memory device, and synchronized operation of the whetstone 42 with the work 20 can be accomplished based on said pieces of the information. By contrast, when the whetstone 42 is shifted and a new grinding blade is mated with the work 20, a phase shift caused thereby is refined by correcting the stored contents of said pulse information from the whetstone 42 and said pulse information from the work 20, and a clutch of a motor for work is thrown in by said pieces of the information to accomplish new synchronized operation. Accordingly, the shift of the grinding blade for whetstone is extremely simplified, allowing the effective use and durability of the whetstone to be increased. |
