PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of a bulb type water wheel, by enabling an access pipe to be removed from water stream. CONSTITUTION:An upper guide bearing 22 and a lower guide bearing 23 for supporting an access pipe 20 are fitted in a through-hole formed in a hatch cover 21 so that the access pipe 20 may be removed upon operation of a water wheel. Upon removal and installation of the access pipe 20, the other ends of piston rods 33 are secured to the hatch cover 21, and a fluid servo-motor device is so operated that servo-cylinders 24 alone move up and down. When pressure is fed from feed pipes 26, the access pipe 20 is lowered, but when pressure is fed from feed pipes 25, the access pipe 20 is raised. Vibration caused by vortex stream downstream of the access pipe 20 may be eliminated. |
