PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp copy image with a little fogging by scattering a single-component developer by mechanical oscillations and performing contactless development. CONSTITUTION:When toner is supplied and a copying machine is put in operation, the toner 9 supplied onto an electrode 6 which serves as a toner carrier is scattered toward an electrostatic latent image holding member 1 by oscillations of a piezoelectric oscillator 4 applied with a high frequency voltage and stuck selectively on only image parts of the electrostatic latent image holding member 1 by the electrostatic attractive force of the image parts. Therefore, the advantages of a powder cloud system such as good gradations and the use of nonmagnetic toner are obtained. In general, when magnetic toner is used for a developer for color copying, a dark color is reproduced owing to a magnetic component, but the phenomenon is sliminated by using the nonmagnetic toner, so the use of the nonmagnetic toner is advantageous to the color copying. |
