PURPOSE:To obtain high sensitivity to light in the long wavelength region by incorporating a specified azulenium salt compd. CONSTITUTION:A film contg. one or more kinds of azulenium salt compds. represented by the formula shown on the right is photoconductive, and is used for the photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic sensitive body. In the formula, each of R1-R7 is H, halogen, or a monovalent group, or at least one of adjacent groups of them may form an optionally substd. condensed ring; M is a metal atom for forming a metallocene; n is 0 or 1; and Z<-> is an anion. It is preferred to form the charge generating layer into a thin layer, preferably, <=5mum thick, in order to shorten the range of the carriers generated from the charge generating layer, and a binder resin is used for the charge generating layer in an amt. of <=80wt%. The kind of the resin-dissolving solvent to be used depends upon the kinds of the resin to be used, and it is selected from ones not dissolving a charge transfer layer and an undercoat layer, and it is embodied by methanol, ethanol, etc., thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be adapted to a laser beam scanning type electrophotographic process and to obtain characteristics high in sensitivity to the long wavelength region. |
