PURPOSE:To enhance thermal response characteristics and clearly record in high density, by a method wherein a coating liquid comprising a colorless or light- colored color forming substance, a phenolic compound and a (oxymethyl)naphthalene derivative is applied to a base. CONSTITUTION:At least one colorless or light-colored color forming substance, at least one phenolic compound and a (oxymethyl)naphthalene derivative of the formula, wherein R is alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, arylcarbonyl or arylsulfonyl group which may be substituted, are individually pulverized to a particle diameter of about several mum and dispersed in a medium containing a binder in an appropriate concentration by a ball mill or the like, and the resultant dispersions are mixed together to prepare a liquid. A filler or the like is added to the liquid as required, and the resultant liquid is applied to an appropriate base, followed by drying to obtain the thermal recording paper. |
