PURPOSE:To prevent a square mask frame from being distored by arrangine one elastic support for each of a pair of opposed sides of the mask frame and also arranging two elastic supports for each of another pair of opposed sides. CONSTITUTION:A square mask frame 2 bearing a shadow mask 1 is elastically supported in a face panel 4 by six elastic supports 7a, 7b...7f which are arranged at proper intervals between the side wall of the mask frame 2 and the side wall of the face panel 4. The two elastic supports 7a, 7b, each one of which is provided for each of a pair of opposed sides of the square mask frame 2, are arranged to oppose to each other, and the four elastic supports 7c, 7d; 7e, 7f, each two of which are provided for each of another pair of opposed sides of the mask frame 2, are arranged to oppose to each other respectively. In this way, it is possible to use a thin material for the mask frame and also to reduce the deterioration of the mask supports and obtain the good purity characteristics. |
