PURPOSE:To facilitate reproduction with a small amount of noises by controlling a capstan motor by the signal which corresponds to the maximum point of the amplitude of an FM reproduction output at slow reproduction and still reproduction and controlling the tape position. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the operation of a VTR, a speed-information signal supply circuit 17 generates a set signal of a standard speed, slow reproduction or still reproduction, and makes a signal from a bimorph board driving signal generation circuit 16 change in accordance with the tape speed. Bimorph boards 5a and 5b oscillate in accordance with the signal from the circuit 16, and the inclination of scanning loci of special-reproduction rotational magnetic heads 4a and 4b is allowed to coincide with a recording track at the time of special reproduction. Based on an FM reproduction output which is obtained from rotational magnetic heads 3a and 3b for standard tape speed recording reproduction, the signal in correspondence to the maximum point of the amplitude of the FM reproduction output is outputted from a position detection circut 20, and a capstan motor 7 is controlled.
