<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber cable which is bent flexibly but is very dificult to bend with a breaking curvature or less and has a high rigidity, by providing plural inside pipes and outside pipes and detaining them around a tube. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber consists of a core 1 and a loose clad of a stainless tube. The optical fiber is inserted in a flexible tube 3 consisting of plastics, rubber, or the like, and plural inside pipes 4a, 4b... are fitted close to the outside of the tube 3. Outside pipes 5a, 5b... having inside diameters slightly larger than outside diameters of inside pipes 4a, 4b... are fitted loosely and close to cover adjacent parts of inside pipes 4a, 4b.... A sleeve 6 which fixes the fiber is adhered to the fiber and the inside pipe 4a. When the optical fiber cable is bent, outside surfaces of inside pipes and inside surfaces of outside pipes are brought into contact with each other with a certain radius of curvature, and it cannot be bent a curvature lower than this curvature.</p> |
