The invention relates to a resistance meter comprising a voltage source 1 to which a test resistor 2 to be measured can be connected. Furthermore, there is an indicating device for indicating the measured resistance value. The test resistor 2 is connected in series with a picture element of a liquid crystal display 3, 3', which consists of a fixed resistor 4, 4' and a capacitor 5, 5' connected in parallel therewith. The capacitor 5, 5' is formed by the two electrodes of a liquid crystal cell 3, 3' between which there is a liquid crystal substance. The beam path of a light source 6 is directed onto a light sensor 8 by which the display device can be actuated in dependence on the light intensity. The liquid crystal cell 3 is arranged in the beam path of the light source 6. <IMAGE>
