PURPOSE:To make a forming device small-sized, and to improve a productivity by connecting a pair of electrodes to a prescribed part of a tubular work, heating electrically said part, applying a force of an axial direction to the work, and bulging and deforming said part by a high pressure gas. CONSTITUTION:A pipe-shaped material 2 to be formed is inserted and held by a receiving base 3 and a moving base 6, pressed and supported by a cylinder 7, the center part of the forming material 2 is heated electrically with a transformer 9 by connecting a pair of clamp electrodes 4, 5, the electrodes 4, 5 are moved in the axial direction A so that no molten mark is generated on the forming material 2, and simultaneously, the base 6 is moved in the direction B by the cylinder 7, and a compressive force of the axial direction is applied to the forming material 2. In this case, the heating part is bulged and deformed by pressing a compressed air into the forming body 2 from a gas feed port 8. In this way, a desired part of the material to be formed can be bulged and deformed by a hot working, and a device is made small-sized and a productivity is raised.
