In a missile, a tail unit for stabilizing the flight attitude, which is wound up in the transport position of the missile, is provided. In order to stabilize the flight attitude, whilst at the same time ensuring that the tail unit requires only a small amount of space in the transport position, tail unit bands (7 to 10) are fastened to the bottom (6) of a receiving recess (5) of a carrier body (2). The carrier body (2) is mounted axially displaceably on the inside on the casing (4) of the missile. In the transport position, the receiving recess (5) is covered by the casing (4). In the flight attitude, the carrier body (2) is pushed out of the casing (4) in such a way that the receiving recess (5) is free and the tail-unit bands (7 to 10) project radially beyond the casing (4). <IMAGE>
