The invention relates to a full-flow piston slide valve having a closing piston which is displaceable in an upper part of the slide by way of a non-rising spindle and is covered with a seal element made of rubber or the like. The seal element has a cylindrical part which is guided in the slide housing and, at the free end, makes a transition to a hemispherical part. In the closed position, this interacts with a correspondingly shaped seating surface in the through-hole of the slide housing. At least one lateral pressure compensation passage extending parallel to the axis of the spindle and of the closing piston is provided above the closing piston, between the hole of the slide housing and a cavity in the upper part of the slide. Pressure compensation can take place via two longitudinal grooves which are provided in a cylindrical guide for the closing piston and extend into the seating surface (matched to the hemispherical shape of the lower part of the closing piston) in the hole of the slide housing. It is also possible, as a pressure compensation passage, to provide on the delivery or inflow side in the slide housing a hole extending parallel to the cylindrical guide for the closing piston.
