PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for using shaft for installing a roll of paper in a unit and reduce cost and make the operation smooth by rotatably fitting collars, which are fitted in a cylindrical core of said roll of paper, to flanges forsupporting said roll of paper in a spool. CONSTITUTION:A spool 1' consists of flanges 4', which support a roll of paper 2 for recording. Collars 8 are rotatably fitted over the supporting parts 6', which are projectingly provided at the central part of the flanges 4', while the outer surfaces 9 of the collars 8 are fitted in the core 5 of a roll of paper 2. The flange 4' is made of a flexible synthetic resin, and the collar 8 is made of a synthetic resin etc. having smaller friction coefficient, respectively. The roll of paper 2 is installed on the flanges 4', through the collars 8. Thereby, the conventional shaft for installing the roll of paper 2 in a unit can be eliminated, the cost of the unit can be reduced, and the roll of paper 2 can be smoothly delivered.
