PURPOSE:To hold a sail for safekeeping in compact size in time of nonuse, by making a hollow post supporting the rigid sail foldable, while installing a vertically movable locking device inside the hollow part and also making the rigid sail supporting post lockable and foldable. CONSTITUTION:A hollow post 5 supporting a rigid sail is made foldable at its midway part via hinges 14a, 14b and a pin 15. A locking member 9 is installed inside the hollow part free of vertical motion by means of each mechanism of a cylinder 12 and a piston 11. With this constitution, an upper end of the rigid sail comes foldable via a wire 16 whereby it is keepable in compact size in time of nonuse. In addition, the rigid sail comes holdable steadfastly owing to the locking member 9 inside the hollow part.
