PURPOSE:To shorten the reading time and at the same time to read assuredly the magnetic record information by using a circuit which extracts every photodetecting element train the output of the direction rectangular to the synchronizing amplification direction of a photodetecting element constituting a surface image pickup device and then separates the signal component of said synchronizing amplification direction which is contained in the output signal. CONSTITUTION:The output of the direction Y rectangular to the synchronizing amplification direction X of a photodetecting element constituting a photodetecting system 3 is extracted every photodetecting element train. Then the signal component recorded in the direction X is separated. Sampling circuits 111-11n are turned on successively in the fixed time intervals by sampling pulses P1-Pn which are supplied in time division and in fixed time intervals. These sampling pulses P1-Pn are decided by using the synchronizing pulse which is used for charge transfer of the system 3 as the bases. This can shorten the reading time and also read assuredly the magnetic record information.
