PURPOSE:To prevent an overvoltage from being applied to an underwater motor commutator mechanism and to prevent it from damaging by detecting the overspeed of the motor at the ground power source side, and reducing the output of the power source. CONSTITUTION:An overspeed preventing unit IV is provided to detect an output voltage E and an output current I of a ground power source, calculates an E-IR to the coefficient of a cable equivalent resistor R obtained in advance, and presumes the speed of an underwater motor in a board at the ground power source side by assuming that the E-IR is proportional to the rotating speed of the motor. When this voltage exceeds the prescribed value, it is judged as an overspeed to remove a torque command of the ground power source to zero, to stop the power supply from the ground power source to prevent the motor from rotating at the overspeed, thereby preventing an overvoltage from being applied to a commutator mechanism. |
