PURPOSE:To execute assuredly on-track to all heads by controlling a shift means in accordance with the relative position shift information on directions of rotary shafts of said plural heads. CONSTITUTION:The signals reproduced by heads 1 and 2 are supplied to a tracking signal processing circuit 16. Thus tracking control signals are obtained. These tracking control signals are divided into the information component on the height variance between two heads and the information component containing no height variance. The information containing the height variance is supplied to an adder circuit 17; while the information containing no height variance is supplied to a capstan servo circuit 13. The control signals supplied to the circuit 13 contain no track shift information due to the height variance between two heads. This attains the stable capstan servo. Furthermore the track shift component due to the relative height variance between two heads can be controlled by bimorphs 3 and 4. Thus both heads are always on-tracked.
