摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a belt by setting functional relation such that control pressure is a decrease function of the speed change ratio of CVT and line pressure is a decrease function of control pressure, thereby to set line pressure at a value corresponding to transmission torque of an output pulley. CONSTITUTION:A line pressure control device is provided with a control pressure generating valve 146 having a spool 162 subjected to urging force corresponding to a displacement position of an input side movable pulley 40, which is adapted to generate control pressure decreasing with an increase in displacement of the input side movable pulley 40 by the movement of the spool 162 and with a line pressure generating valve 198 for generating line pressure decreasing with an increase in the control pressure. In this arrangement, the control pressure is a decrease function of the speed change ratio of CVT, and the line pressure is a decrease function of the control pressure so that the line pressure is set at a value corresponding to transmission torque of an output side pulley, which can prevent a belt from being damaged due to slippage of the belt at the time of abnormal operation.
