Rubber hose comprises a helical winding of resin and reinforcing threads and tubular-textile or spiral plies, and is resistant to vacuum-generated, axial tensile stresses and/or torsional forces. Beside the reinforcing plies, the hose incorporates >=1 helical plie comprising rubber-coated/resin reinforced with threads. These have a stiffening and or reinforcing effect and form, together with the adjacent elastomer layer, a cured unitary system bonded to the elastomer layer. Used in seabed and other deep drilling operations, mining, pile driving. The hose has outstanding resistance to interior and exterior pressure, and to heavy tensile and torsional stresses.
