ELECTRO-DISTORSION ACTUATOR AND FUEL INJECTION VALVE

PURPOSE:To prevent cooling and shortcircuit of electro-distorsion element by providing a housing around said element while encapsulating a specific heat- transmission material in the gap between said housing and element and circulating cooling media at the outside of housing. CONSTITUTION:An electro-distorsion actuator 12 is assembled integrally with a fuel injection valve 10 while an electro-distorsion element 26 of actuator 12 is contained in a void 24 of valve body 20 and held by spacers 28, 30. The assembly of said element 26 and spacers 28, 30 is surrounded by housing 42 while the void 24 is partitioned into outside and inside spaces 50, 52. Electrically insulative and fluid heat-transmission material such as silicon oil is injected into the inside space 52 then sealed by means of a blind plug 40. In order to circulate cooling media or fuel through the outside space 50, inlet 62 and outlet 64 for cooling fuel are made through the upper valve body 61.
