PURPOSE:To enable print with low energy and at high speed, by a method wherein a coloring material layer comprising a heat-fusible substance and a particulate low heat capacity inorganic matter having a heat capacity lower than that of the coloring material layer exclusive of the inorganic matter is provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible substance, a particulate low heat capacity inorganic matter having a heat capacity of not more than 2.43J/cm<2>. deg.C and a coloring agent are mixed with each other to prepare a composition for forming a coloring material layer. In this case, 20-90pts.wt. of the heat-fusible substance, 5- 20pts.wt. of the coloring agent and 5-60pts.wt. of the inorganic matter are preferably used per 100pts.wt. of the composition. The composition is applied to the base such as a paper and a resin film by hot-melt coating or by applying a coating liquid prepared by dissolving the composition in an appropriate solvent, to obtain the thermal transfer recording medium. |
