PURPOSE:To make a service brake bring its function for a parking brake into full play at all times, by installing a movable engaging member in a brake lever free of selection from a position engagina a fixed engaging member installed in a body frame to an engagement releasing position in time of running this lever in a brake releasing direction. CONSTITUTION:In time of parking, after a brake lever 9 of a mechanical brake 8 is stepped on, a movable engaging member 16 installed in the lever 9 is thrust in an arrow A direction, and a one side part 16a is inserted into space between the lever 9 and a bolt 15, then this part is made into a state of being opposed to a head part of the bolt 15. Next, when the lever 9 is turned round in a brake releasing direction, the one side parts 16a comes into a state of being held between a side edge of the lever 9 and the head part of the bolt 15. Therefore, the lever 9 is unable to return to a complate brake releasing state, thus it functions as a parking brake. And, even if a setting position of the lever 9 is altered by length adjustment in the bolt 15, a relative position between the lever 9 and the engaging member 16 is in no case altered at all so that the engaging member 16 is held between the lever 9 and the bolt 15 without fail. |
