<p>PURPOSE:To enable correct bar code reading by synthetically evaluating the result of integration of bar code data in the direction of subscanning of a line sensor by the result of former by one and the result layer by one to the direction of main scanning. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 2 consists of two kinds of codes, thin line and thick line which four times as thick as the thin line, and the thin line carries information of ''0'', and thick line carries information of ''1''. In the case where the bar code contains impurities due to adhesion of dust etc., if a line sensor 18 catches the bar code of an object 2 to be scanned, several data are obtained to the direction of subscanning by scanning different positions several times. The data are binary coded 14 according to the difference of density and integrated in the direction of subscanning. In this case by synthetically evaluating by the result of former by one and the result of later by one to the direction of main scanning, correct reading of bar code becomes possible, and factors of erroneous reading due to slight white in printing, lack of edge, scatter of ink, adhesion of dust, etc. can be eliminated and correct code reading can be performed.</p> |
