PURPOSE:The titled composition having excellent adhesiveness, etc., suitable for a bonding layer of a laminate, made by incorporating a bentonite treated to reduce water absorptivity into a polyolefin modified partly or wholly with an unsaturated carboxylic acid (derivative). CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin (e.g. a polyethylene) is modified partly or wholly with an unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. acrylic acid) or its derivative (e.g. maleic anhydride) to prepare a modified polyolefin. Separately, a bentonite is acid-treated to change a part of the contained metal (e.g. Na) to H<+> and to extract a part of the alumina, converting the silica part into amorphous form; then dried and calcined to cause transition of the silica part to cristobalite, giving a treated bentonite having a water absorptivity of not more than 2wt%. 0.02-2pts. wt. treated bentonite is incorporated into 100pts.wt. modified polyolefin aforementioned to give the titled composition.
