PURPOSE:To attain mass production and weight reduction and also to improve wear resistance by redrawing a metallic plate material into a slender bottomed cylindrical body, and then boring its bottom and thus forming a slender cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:A tape guide cylinder is made of the slender bottomed cylindrical body by redrawing a plate material such as a steel plate, and the bottom boring work and edge treating work of this bottomed cylindrical body are carried out to from the slender cylindrical body. Namely, the metallic material is drawn deep successively from a large-diameter shallow-bottom shape to a small- diameter deep-bottom shape by using punches P1, P2- and dies D1, D2-, thereby obtaining a bottomed cylindrical blank B. Further, the bottom of this blank B is pressed and bored, and specific-size cutting is performed to form the tape guide cylinder. Thus, the mass production is performed, the weight is reduced, and the wear resistance is improved.
