PURPOSE:To obtain sintered ore having high reducibility and a favorable powdering property under reduction at low temp. by using cement in place of part of coke as one of starting materials to be sintered when fine iron ore is sintered. CONSTITUTION:When fine iron ore is sintered, Portland cement is added to starting materials to be sintered as a coagulating and hardening agent, and the amount of coke in the starting materials is reduced in accordance with amount of the cement added. The prepd. starting materials are charged into a sintering apparatus and sintered. Sintered ore having a favorable powdering property under reduction at low temp. and high reducibility is obtd. The strength of the sintered ore is well maintained even when the sintering temp. is low.
