PURPOSE:To obtain an optical branching device which is compact and does not take time for its assembling work, and whose connection loss is small, by constituting the optical branching device of a branching path, a branching path containing groove, and a forming body having an adaptor part. CONSTITUTION:A forming body 11 of a plastic material, etc. whose overall length is about the same as a length of a branching device is made of half bodies 11a, 11b, and on both side faces being orthogonal in the longitudinal direction of the half bodies 11a, 11b, an adaptor 14 to be connected to an optical connector 9 is formed in a half-divided shape. A containing groove of a branching path 6 is provided on a joint surface of the half bodies 11a, 11b. The branching path 6 is placed in the groove of the half body 11b. A dust receiver hole 12 is provided between each tip of the adaptor 14 and the groove. Each tip of the branching path 6 exists in the upper part of the hole 12, and another hole 13 is provided on a little inside of the tip, and used as an adhesive agent receiver in case of joining both the half bodies 11a, 11b.
