PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition with markedly improved solvent-craze and impact resistance, by incorporating liquid polybutene and/or liquid polybutadiene in polyphenylene ether resin or its blend with styrene polymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a blend consisting of (i) 20-100pts.wt. of polyphenylene ether resin of formula (R1-4 are each H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, etc.) and (ii) 80- 0pts.wt. of styrene polymer with (B) 0.5-20 (pref. 2.5-10) pts.wt. of liquid polybutene (pref. with a number-average molecular weight 300-2,500 and viscosity 3-8,000cst) and/or liquid polybutadiene (pref. with a number-average molecular weight 500-4,000). |
