PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material free of sticking and excellent in printed image preservability, wherein a PVA resin layer comprising an alkyl vinyl ether as a comonomer is provided on a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A resin layer which comprises a PVA resin having an alkyl vinyl ether (in which the alkyl group is preferably a 3-20C alkyl group) as a comonomer, preferably, in an amount of 0.1-10mol%, as a main constituent and preferably further comprises a cross-linking agent such as glyoxal is provided on a thermal recording layer comprising at least a color former, e.g., a colorless or light-colored basic dye such as 3-(N-cyclohexyl-N-methylamino)-6-methyl-7-phenylaminofluoran, and a color reaction agent performing a color reaction upon making contact with the color former, e.g., an acid substance such as bisphenol A. |
