1,156,832. Feeding thin plates. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 5 Aug., 1966 [10 Aug., 1965], No. 35201/66. Heading B8S. Thin plates are introduced into the hopper 8 at the point 4 and are delivered at 5 in the pockets 6 of disc 1 to be discharged thereat one by one. Each pocket 6 can hold at least three thin plates. This enhances the probability that each pocket at the position 5 will contain at least one plate. The disc 1 is driven step by step by gear 42 which engages gear 41 fixed concentrically with disc 1. Gear 42 is driven by Geneva mechanism 44, 43. Additionally the shaft 3 of disc 1 is carried by arm 25 pivotally carried at 26 and is reciprocated by linkage 22, 23 operated by eccentric 21. The point of drive of gear 42 lies on an extension of the axis of pin 26 so as to avoid conflict between the two forms of movement. |
