VERTICAL MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING HEAD

PURPOSE:To keep a gap between an auxiliary magnetic pole and recording medium always constant by forming sliding bodies projected at their sliding surfaces by a prescribed length from the opposite surface of the auxiliary magnetic pole opposed to the recording medium and contacting the sliding bodies with one surface of the recording medium while contacting main magnetic pole with the other surface. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic pole 8 is hels by two main magnetic pole supporting bodies 9 of which shapes are fixed so that their leading ends are located on the top of the main magnetic pole 8. The auxiliary magnetic pole 12 is formed through the recording medium 11 forming vertical magnetic films 10 on both sides. A winding 13 is wound around the auxiliary magnetic pole 12 and the sliding bodies 14 are fixed on both sides of the auxiliary magnetic pole 12. The sliding surfaces 15 of these sliding bodies 14 are projected by the length (d) from the opposite surface 16 of the auxiliary magnetic pole 12 to the recording medium 15 to the recording medium side. Even if the recording medium 11 has a curve or beat, a part near the main magnetic pole 8 is stably head, so that main magnetic pole 8 is stably contacted with the recording medium 11.
