PURPOSE:To increase charge-discharge cycle life by using a zinc electrode in which alkali resistant and water repellent synthetic resin is contained as binder in the center and rubber elastmer in addition to the above synthetic resin is contained in the periphery. CONSTITUTION:Water is added to the mixture of zinc oxide powder, mercuric oxide, and alkali resistant, water repellent fluorine resin powder, and they are kneaded and rolled to form a sheet 1. Toluene solution of butadiene-styrene copolymer is added to the mixture of zinc oxide powder and mercuric oxide and they are kneaded and dried in an atmosphere of nitrogen. Fluorine resin powder and water are added to the kneaded powder and they are kneaded again, then, rolled to prepare a frame-shaped sheet 2. The sheets 1 are placed in the center of both sides of current collector comprising copper and sheets 2 are in its periphery, and they are press-molded and dried to prepare a zinc electrode. |
