The invention relates to a device, as shown in Figure 7, for swimming without water in a room bounded by walls, in which a pile of ball-shaped bodies is arranged. The bodies, preferably in the form of balls, have a specific weight which is dimensioned such that a human figure entering the pile experiences or approximates the standard behaviour of a human body in the water. Breathing therapy can be carried out at the same time by means of installed nozzles. Installed vibrators facilitate the therapeutic movements. The ball-shaped bodies can be of hollow construction, with a weighting content, they can be of solid construction, and they can have a sliding outer coating. The pile of bodies can be interspersed with air chambers which impart wave-type movements to said pile. Said wave movement can also be achieved by the arrangement of eccentric discs below an elastic membrane on which the pile of ball-type bodies is situated. <IMAGE>
